Just heard of his passing. I remember his show "The Lively Ones", in the  1962 Ford Convertible. Vic Damone was one of the best.

Thank God That Vic Damone is dead!

What a beautiful down to earth person Mr. Damone was.. (never mind the witch) He wais an exemplary human being in every way and I’m very happy he represented all New Yorkers (especially Brooklyn) in that light..You may be gone but your golden voice and lovely personality will live on forever...God Bless...Heaven has gained another angel.😇

So sad to learn of the death of Mr. Damone on 11 Feb. 2018. Do yourself a favor and listen to his discography. Many "sad" ballands, but beautifully performed by VD.

STILL WITH US. Great, great great singer. Vic recorded some masterpiece albums in the mid 80th that were never released on cd. I remember Lionel Ritchie's Still------just sublime.

Why such uncomfortable chairs to sit on, do they want to elevate you up?

Jay Young - 2014-05-18
How effortless!  No pyrotechnics!  Singing with eyes closed.  Just damn superb singing!

I had so wanted to see him and Diahann Carroll grow old together!  They once were quite a team.  I was optimistic that the marriage would hold since they had known each other long before getting hitched.

Damone is now in his mid 80s and he looks much the same as he did here, close to 20 years ago. He does perform selectively in concert; I had the pleasure of seeing him during his last appearance at Kravis center in Palm Beach, Florida in 2011and he looked and sounded great. He maintained his vocal strength and his ability to sustain notes. He was extremely fond of Sinatra and performed many of the Sinatra songs with the original Riddle arrangements. Similarly, Bennett is spectacular in concert.

Hearing Vic Damone talk about Brooklyn, I sometimes think that if it was an independent country, its motto would be FUGEDDABOUTIT.

Vic had a great voice and was certainly one of the best ;but THE best;well just listen to Mel Torme singing Stardust when he was even older than Vic on this Clip.

America has produced some of the greatest popular singers of all time - some of them are still performing today (2012) - Johnny Matthis, Tony Bennett, Frankie Valli, Jack Jones... Andy Williams is virtually retired now. Vic Damone was semi-retired when this clip was made in 1995, but he still performs very occasionally. In my opinion, Damone was the greatest of them all - a better singer than Dean Martin or Sinatra... The only young singers we have to touch him are Buble and Aiken.

Stunatra - 2012-06-23
I think his voice aged the best out of any singer from that era. Phenomenal.

Ric Tester - 2012-02-20
One of my favourite singers ever - and one of the last standing from that era

Vic Damone got out of the game before he lost his mojo. One of the best set of pipes in the business.

ponderosa1850 - 2011-04-07
Very nice to see Vic Damone interviewed. Thanks.

makthnife - 2010-10-12
So cool! Thx for posting! Love to hear one of the masters like Vic Damone....(but that Kathie Lee..always yapping her mouth off, trying to remind everyone she thinks she can sing too...notice how Regis is polite, when he's got chops to sink Gifford's QE2~) Anyways....great to see, thanks again! More please!!
